Well, it is still winter here. Two snow storms this week which nearly closed down the city. 

It was combined with extremely cold temperatures – it was 5 degrees Fahrenheit this morning and this week the wind gusts were up to 60 mph.  This was our Weather Alert for last Wednesday at 8:30 PM.

When not cooking – to keep the house warm! – or shoveling/brooming the snow, I did get some stitching done!

• Quiltmaker – Block Testing:  Getting close to the finish of this volume and some of the blocks have been a bit more challenging. Two blocks were completed and evaluated and work started on another 3 blocks.

Some of the techniques we’ve been doing have been Reverse Appliqué, Fusible Appliqué, Partial Seam Construction and English Paper Piecing.

• Fabric Café – Haven’t done any tops for Donna this week and it feels funny!  

Robert & Donna are on the road.  Saturday they were in Cape May, NJ and this coming week they will set up a booth at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival at the Hampton Roads Convention Center in Hampton, VA.  If you are in the area, come check out their fabric bundles & patterns.  You will be able to see some of the quilts I’ve made hanging at their booth – #1120

Charity Stitching: Bead Bags of Courage & Pillowcases for ConKerr Cancer No stitching done, but did order some fabric and got it yesterday.

Some cute novelty fabric for pillowcases & exterior bead bags.

Nice fabric for pillowcase trim and linings of the bead bags.

This coming week will be busy and I probably won’t get a lot of stitching done, but do plan to get some hand stitching squeezed in.
