February is a short month, but so much happened.

Weather – Snow, Ice, Freezing & Below Freezing temperatures with wind chills in the negative numbers!

We had snow for Valentine’s Day. More followed.

And we ended the month with snow & ice.

The only positive about the weather is that the cold & snow are not lasting as long.  So looking forward to Spring!

This past week has been busy – really not much sewing.

Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks – we did get the final couple of blocks and I did get one of them cut.  It is English Paper Piecing, so will take me a bit longer to stitch by hand rather than by machine.  The last one is a fusible appliqué with some borders.

Fabric Café – I’ve spent most of this past week working for Fabric Café.  Three times a year I get to meet up with Donna & Robert in person.  Quilt Show Time!

This week we’ve been in Hampton, Virginia, with a booth at the Mid-Atlantic Quilt Festival XXV ! Set up and Preview Night was Wednesday with a forecast of snow for the night.

After a night of snow there was 9 inches of snow for a city that doesn’t regularly see more than a inch or two, if that much.  The city and surrounding area shut down – but not the quilt show!  As they say – The Show Must Go On!

Wednesday Night Preview Night and Day 1 were both a bit slow because of the unusual snow event, but many did brave the weather and we enjoyed visiting with them all!

One lady bought a kit Wednesday night, and brought it back Friday with the Top FINISHED!  Great Job, Debbie!

 My main job for Fabric Café is to piece tops and also test new patterns and help edit her books of patterns.  Here are some of the tops that I’ve made which are now completed quilts being displayed in the booth.

It was a fun week, but all good things must end.  So on Sunday at 4 pm the show closed and pack-up began.

I headed home and Donna & Robert headed to Lakeland, Florida, for their next show –  Original Sewing Expo on March 5-7.   If you are in the neighborhood, go see them at Booth 410 and tell them I sent you!

That was my month.  I hope you got some sewing done, too.  Wonder what will be done in March?
