3/28/2015 –

Not much sewing this week.  It begun with the drive home from last week’s Quilt Camp – About a 275 mile drive.  Then unload the Car, Laundry, Clean the house – you know how it is, leaving the rest of the family at home when you go out of town? And finally returning everything in my sewing room back to where it belonged.

While I was gone, I received two more 3-yard bundles to make tops for Fabric Café.  These are going to make beautiful quilts!

I love the bright and cheery colors!  Guess what I’ll be working on next week?!

03/22/2015 Part II –

Since I didn’t sew much this week, I’m going to share some more pictures from the Quilt Camp’s Show ‘n Tell last week. (Some items were worked on during Camp and other items were brought to share what we’ve done.)  Note: Lots of pictures, this may take a bit of time to load.

Vanessa –

This began the Camp as just  a pile of blocks. Didn’t it turn out beautiful!

Here is a jacket that she made earlier and was wearing at Camp.  See the free-hand leaves appliquéd on the shoulder – Beautiful!

Final hand quilting was completed at camp.  One lucky baby will get this unique quilt! See another quilt she is working on draped on the table.

Beautiful felted wool candle mat – all work is being done by hand.

Marguerite –

Would you believe she’s a beginner!  Beautiful colors!

This was the first time she attended Camelia’s Quilt Camp.  She brought several quilts that she’s made.

Lynne –

Lynne brought this Round Robin Charity Quilt to finish quilting.

Cute Chicken Pin Cushion which was filled with Kitty Litter!

Linda –

Found in a box bought at an auction, a number of feed sack & shirt 9-patches – none of which were the same.  After trimming, cutting and re-assembling, new blocks are evolving!

Now the new blocks have been combined with black sashing, the next step is to add the vertical sashing which includes white corner blocks.

This was a new adventure in quilting for Linda and we all followed along and the resulting quilt will be beautiful!

Della –

Have you done a round quilt?  Della found some metal rods which will be inserted into the binding to create a firm frame.

Karen –

All paper pieced, Karen completed 14 blocks during Quilt Camp. Beautiful!

Karen is choosing the next block to make.  This is out of the book – The Farmer’s Wife Sampler Quilt , which was written by Laurie Aaron Hird(Camelia’s son’s Mother-in-Law). Small world! Check out the interesting history of these blocks!

ME! 

This is a quilt I made for my Mother-in-Law.  I backed it with flannel for warmth and to keep it from sliding off the bed.

Nine of the 12 blocks from the 2014 Wishes Quilt Along from The Fat Quarter Shop.  I have the final 3 blocks cut, but need to find the time to stitch them and add the borders.

Well, I hope you’ve enjoyed seeing what these very talented ladies have done or are working on.  We made some new friends and had a grand time!
