Tops for Fabric Cafe

Donna, of Fabric Cafe, has been working on another book and several of us have been testing the patterns.  It is so much fun, but we can’t share the pictures until the book is released later this year.

But I can share some of the tops I’ve made using existing patterns with new fabric!

This Friendship Star Pattern is a great way of using a large print fabric with two contrasting/complementary fabrics.

Friendship Star

Perfect Pets Pattern has an Applique pattern for either a Cat or Dog. The nose & tail on each of the dog (or cat) silhouettes are made with Chenille by the Inch and is sold separately.  Hint:  While it is easier to apply the Chenille to the individual blocks before sewing the top together, if you will be sending it out to a long-arm quilter, I suggest that you talk with them first.  You do not want the quilting to cross over the Chenille, you will want to check if this is ok with your quilter. Check out the Tutorial Video for instructions to adding & fluffing the Chenille.

The fabric used with the Tumbling Triangles Pattern reminds me of a peacock! Doesn’t the purple POP!?

The 9-Patch Pattern is simple strip piecing.

Once the book has been released, I’ll post pictures of the new patterns I tested.

Happy Stitching!
