While the fabric from Fabric Cafe didn’t arrive as expected, I took advantage of the meal planning & prep which had freed up my time in anticipation of making a few tops.

In my post yesterday, I shared the four 16″ x 16″ throw pillows I made for my daughter. Two were for her and two were for the daughter of a friend of hers. I’m working on a Tutorial for these pillows and will post after I get it edited and pictures added.

I began my Sunday preparing a breakfast that would give us leftovers for a couple of days – Zucchini & Cheese Quiche, Sausage patties, Gravy & Biscuits.

I’m very happy with my Sewing Room Remodel/Organization. I LOVE “shopping” my Stash! (Can you see my Happy Dance?) While it’s not complete, it was organized enough that when searching for the fabric for the pillowcase trim & band, I was able to go directly to a shelf and find what I needed. I didn’t have to move stacks of fabric & boxes or dig around. No rearranging piles. Before, I would have spent half a day trying to find the right material!

My afternoon was spent finishing one of my OMG projects. I had the cupcakes ready to stitch down, but needed to find matching thread to use. Again, I was able to go to a shelf where most of my thread was stored during Stage #1.

Elm Street Quilts One Monthly Goal – August Finish Link-up

Linking up with Elm Street Quilts celebrating completion of my August One Monthly Goal. Actually, my August OMG was in two parts: (1) to finish the Cupcake Block for Project Linus 2018 Mystery QAL quilt and (2) to add green borders to the blocks for one of my Project Linus 2017 Mystery QAL quilt.

Altogether I feel very accomplished. Two days of sewing, several completed projects, and all without the wasted time & frustration I had been experiencing whenever I tackled a sewing project.

Tomorrow morning, in anticipation of the mail carrier delivering the fabric, I’ll make some Lemon Blueberry Muffins to go with our leftover Roast for dinner. Once the fabric arrives, I’ll be hunkered down in my sewing room ironing, cutting, stitching & repeat.
