There’s Light at the End of the Tunnel

In my Post dated 8/26/2019, I mentioned I was expecting some fabric to make tops for Fabric Cafe. It didn’t arrive until Monday about 2:30 pm, and it had three 3-yard bundles. One of the three tops needed to get to the long arm quilter ASAP.

I immediately got started on the top which was needed ASAP. Thanks to the prepared meals and a late night sew-a-thon, the completed top was in the mail by Tuesday noon.

I can only show you this side border, but thought you’d like to see my Pampas Grass.

Several of the tops I’ve made the past 2 weeks are patterns which will be released later this year in a new book of 3-yard quilts by Donna Robertson of Fabric Cafe. So I can’t show them to you, Yet. But I do think you will like them.

I was expecting a 2nd box of fabric of 4 more 3-yard bundles, one of which was another urgent finish. So while I waited I worked on another top. A second marathon sewing session and a second top was finish.

The second box arrived Wednesday afternoon. I jumped right in making the third top in 3 days. Here is the fabric. My DH really liked this fabric.

So Thursday morning two more tops were in the mail. Progress – 3 tops completed in 3 days & heading to Texas. Four more tops to make but not quite as urgent. We had run out of the prepared meals & I needed a grocery run.

Over the weekend I began working on the additional tops. But now I needed more cooking and didn’t have any more late night sewing sessions. The next top had HSTs which requires a bit longer due to the trimming required.

Used my Clapper to help press the bulky seam in the center.

The last three tops are patterns in Pretty Darn Quick book of 8 patterns released earlier. Using Patriotic fabric and the Porch Rails pattern, this top worked up fast.
