Fat Quarter Shop’s Mystery Quilt Along is the first of the four projects I plan to work on this Fall to begin. The steps are released on five Tuesdays beginning yesterday.
I woke Tuesday morning and checked online. It wasn’t available yet, so after breakfast I went into my sewing room. I did a little ironing & cleaning. Then I stitched a bit on the backing for Wishes, a UFO from 2014.
It’s hard to take a picture as this is 8-1/2″ x 88″ so I just looped it around on my ironing board.
Later in the morning I downloaded the instructions for All the Trimmings Week 1 and pulled out fabric needed for this step.
Following the cutting directions, I used a design board & Alphabitties to label/identify the cut pieces. Ready to start stitching.
The corner background pieces are small, so I lowered my stitch length to 1.8. Stitching was followed by trimming/cutting and pressing. I used both my clapper & wool pressing mat to get the small corners to lay flat.
After assembling the blocks (and more pressing), I added the background sashing and assembled the row.
Well, I’m pleased! Week #1 row has been finished in one day. I have plenty to keep me stitching the rest of the week while waiting for next Tuesday.
Tomorrow’s another day of stitching!

Nice row.
