Fall usually finds me doing (or trying to do) several Quilt Alongs (QAL), and this year is no different. I’ll admit I don’t always keep up or some of them end up in my UFO pile (UnFinished Objects).

I am also frequently working on several other projects – Quilt of Valor, quilts to be gifted, tops for Fabric Cafe samples & testing new patterns, pillowcases, charity quilts and many other things that catch my eye!

Ok, so back to my Sewing Room on Monday. I started the day cutting & ironing fabric for several projects.

Monday Cutting

• Quilt of Valor #1 – Sunday I finished blocks & rows for a QOV. After checking my calculations, Monday I cut a white border, a red border & a blue border. I also cut the strips necessary for making the binding.

• Queen Size Quilt – I’ve been working on this quilt the past couple of weeks. Monday I cut strips to piece 30 more blocks for this queen quilt.

• Quilt of Valor #2 – Saturday was Worldwide Jelly Roll Day & I spent part of the day making 16-Patch blocks from a Jelly Roll. So today I ironed & cut strip pieced segments for 8 more blocks. I don’t know exactly how this will turn out, but I will have 30-something blocks when done.

Fall QAL – Mondays – Around A Star, a Wall Hanging

This Mystery QAL actually started on August 22nd and clues are released on Mondays. The steps are quick & easy and are a great way to get something done. I like how it gets my sewing mojo going. So Monday I downloaded Step #5 and got it stitched.

To catch you up, here are pictures of Steps #1 – #4. Obviously, according to the title, there had to be a Star Block.

The 2nd Step created 4 blocks using Stitch and Flip to add corners.

Step #3 was eight more simple Stitch and Flip.

Not exactly a new block, Step #4 combined the pieces made in Steps #2 & #3 creating 4 blocks.

Three more clues and we will know how it looks.

Tuesday I have Clue #2 for a 2nd Mystery QAL.
