So, browsing the photos on my phone I have a folder of my Sewing Room projects in 2025 other than Fabric Cafe.

I did finish a few UFOs (UnFinished Objects), made some Safelight Sets, some Zipper Pouches and some pillowcases, plus did some hand piecing which was then finished by quilting on my domestic sewing machine.

January 2025

I made some Zipper Pouches for gifts. OK, they were late Christmas presents for my daughter’s work friends.

March 2025

I had this quilt made but didn’t have a recipient in mind. A neighbor had been very helpful so I decided to finish this for his child.

All that was needed was to add the label and binding. I used the #71 Lap Seam foot and attached the binding to the front by machine. I print my label on an Epson printer and attach it on 2 sides along with the binding. It leaves me just a small amount of hand sewing to finish attaching it.

A UFO Finish

On her blog From My Carolina Home in 2020, Carole had a Quilt Along. I followed along but didn’t get it quilted until . It needed a label & binding. I added the binding by machine on the front and hand stitched it to the back. Hand stitching took me a little time but it’s done!

I now have a Fall themed quilt for our bed!

Another UFO Finish

I had another quilt needing binding and a label. This time I added the binding to the front and folded it to the back ironing & clipping it in place. But I did not hand stitch it. I stitched in the ditch along the folded edge of the binding on the front. It is supposed to catch the binding on the back along the edge. I still need to practice this some more.

In 2014 Fat Quarter Shop (FQS) had a charity block of the month quilt along which was called Wishes.  They offered the blocks monthly and asked for a donation to Make A Wish Foundation as payment. You can learn more about it Here. They also sold a kit of material for the top plus backing fabric to make a 62″ x 78″ quilt which I bought.

I wanted a quilt that was bigger for our queen bed. It took me a while to figure & calculate what was needed to enlarge it, so I boxed it up until I could work on it. Then I had to also calculate how I wanted to piece the backing which is different from the pattern instructions. I was lucky to find the identical fabrics to match the original kit. I added two borders to the top and pieced some yellow fabric on the back to make the backing larger. My quilt measures 80″ x 95″.

So now I’ve got a Spring/Summer quilt for our bed.
