The A/C got fixed Wednesday and after the hot & stressful week we’ve had hubby & I decided we needed a Car Date.

Hinkletown Sewing Machine Shop had scheduled their Customer Appreciation Days for July 23-25. So we decided a day trip to Pennsylvania would be just the right thing!

We were too busy looking at all the demonstrations, so I didn’t take any pictures. There were 15 stations providing demos which included representatives from a variety of products the shop sells. It was very interesting to listen to and speak with the different groups.

We were warmly greeted when we arrived and given a map of the locations of the demonstrations. To add to the fun, we were instructed to have our map initialed at each of the stations. If we got 11 initialed demos we could turn in our map for a Gift Bag and also be entered into a drawing of 3 Grand Prizes.

There was an outdoor tent with seating and refreshments including Soft Serve Ice Cream, Sodas and other Snacks. It was a surprise to see a lady I knew from working the Fabric Cafe Booth at Quilt Shows years ago!

After a bit more than a hour we turned in our initialed map and received our Gift Bag. It included lots of things I can use as well as a few fun items.

As we were about to leave we stopped by the front counter. When we were up here last time, we added our name to a wait list for the newly released Wide Walking Foot 50W. My machine has a 9 mm wide stitch, but previous Walking Feet only utilized 5 mm stitches. The foot had arrived and Hinkletown did not disappoint with their price plus a 25% discount during their Customer Appreciation Days.

After a quick lunch we headed back home. We enjoy seeing the farmland and other scenery on the drive. I will admit sometimes I do take a car-nap, but not this time! We saw people canoeing but by the time I got the picture we had passed them. But I did get a picture of Redman Lake just south of York, PA.

In all is was a very nice day and we were glad to get away for a bit.
