I had some dental work done last week so a soft diet & rest took up most of my time. Finally over the weekend I was able to spend some time in my sewing room.
First step was to spend time organizing. This meant shifting from Fall Projects to Holiday projects and Christmas presents. Fall fabric was moved to the bottom of the cutting table fabric stack. I’m not ready to put them away. I may do one or two other small projects
There are a few Christmas projects I want to do for me. Mainly, though, I need to make or finish some things for presents.
With my shoulder surgery this past spring I didn’t get as much sewing/quilting done as in other years. I’ve been going through some finished or nearly finished UFOs and finding a few things that just need a Label and Binding.

Then there is a quilt that needs the Backing remade and Borders attached, quilted and finished with a Label and Binding.
I have a couple of Tote Bags that need handles attached. Plus I’m sure there will be a few pillowcases, zipper pouches and other miscellaneous projects that might make nice presents.
The calendar tells me that there are 8 more weekends, 60 days before Christmas. So I created a To Do List and broke the projects down to Weekly Assignments.

Week #1 Holiday To Do List
First things first. I had one more Fall Fortnight Placemat to complete. When done I had 6 placemats and will get these in the mail to Carole for distribution to her local Meals on Wheels.
The 2nd bullet on my To Do List is to make a pillowcase for a neighbor’s Birthday which is Wednesday.

Next my goal is to square up a wonky panel and add borders. This is actually a backing that wasn’t square and needed more fabric added so it can go to my longarm friend.
The Road Map quilt needs a label. I hope to get a Magic Binding added this week if I can decide what colors to use. I’m thinking yellow would work as the Accent fabric but not sure what to use as the Main color Blue or Green?
Finally, this week I want to make a sample of a pattern I’m enlarging. I’m a visual learner. The calculations seem correct, but I’ll have to actually make a sample to insure it will really be the size I want.
If I get all this completed and still have time, I’ll move onto next week’s projects.
Looks like I’ll be having a very busy 8 weeks!
Hope you are making progress on whatever you are stitching this week!
Happy Stitching!
