Mammogram Monday

October is Breast Cancer Awareness Month.  Research has brought the treatment of Breast Cancer a long way, but it is still the most commonly diagnosed cancer among American Women besides Skin Cancer. About 1 in 8 women in the US will develop invasive Breast Cancer in their lifetime.

This coming Sunday, October 7th, Kim & I, along with our 4-legged walking partners, Zonya, Hiccup & K-Czar will participate in the Making Strides Against Breast Cancer – Southern Maryland, as part of the PAX River Navy Exchange Team.  The American Cancer Society sponsored 5K Walk will begin @ 9 am at the Wildewood Shopping Center in California, Maryland. Should I make it Bigger?

Been doing some quilting…I have made 2 tops & 2 pillowcases. Today I am working on more pillowcases. I’m trying to decide if I want to make this one bigger. According to the directions it is finished~32″ x 40″. But I am thinking of adding a 2″ inner & 4″ outer border which will make it 44″ x 52″. Any thoughts?

Another Quilt Top Done!

It has been a fun & productive Quilt Camp. I made this 40″ x 58″ Bernstein Bears Quilt Top this morning! It is almost time for breakfast ~ another important part of Camp! ~ then we will have Show & Tell before packing up for another year. It is sad to see it come to a close, but something to look forward to next year!

Quilt Camp–Day #2

A lot of work is getting done.  The sewing machines & irons are keeping busy.  The wonderful Staff from Sew Biz keep coming up with new ideas & demos to inspire us to do more!

Here Karen is checking out the progress of her Tumbling Blocks Quilt – which was started at Quilt Camp 2010!  That’s a work in progress!

I’ve been busy – here is the beginning of row #1 of my Primary Colors 3 Dimensional Bow Ties.

We had a brief, but noisy Thunderstorm last evening. But quilters just keep quilting!
