Ok, actually it is Day #2 of the Quest, but yesterday I spent the day Stitching for Good (formerly called Quilting for Good) but that’s for another post.
Today is bright & sunny but started out at 37 degrees – so a bit cool! But it is a lovely day for a drive.
Well, depending on how you look at it, either (1) Summer ended 9/1/2014; or (2) Fall will begin 9/21/2014. Temperatures are beginning to get cooler overnight and daytime temperatures are no longer in the heat-wave zone.
Editorial Note: I know I haven’t blogged much – ok, not at all, but Summer’s been busy. I promise to do better – or at least to try.
One thing that has been keeping me busy has been our garden. We don’t have a large garden patch. What we’ve had was a small sunny spot by the shed in the back yard and several other plants scattered in the front yard flower gardens.
We won’t talk about the tomato plants that were in containers on the front porch. It seems before the tomatoes matured they began rotting. Will have to research that before next year.

Plans have been finalized for the deployments of the Disaster Response Team & QUILTERS, your help is NEEDED!!!
The first team will deploy 5/26 – 6/2 and the second team will deploy 6/22 – 6/27.
Help is needed from the incredibly generous quilting community to “Bring Hope & Encouragement to the Hurting” in these communities. The estimated need is a minimum of 1500 quilts for the 2 deployments.
Please share with all your friends, quilt guilds and quilt shops to let them know about this need and the mission of this organization. They are accepting quilts of all sizes for men, women, children and infants. They may be quilted or tied.
The goal is to receive 1500+ quilts in the next 3-6 weeks!!!

Temperatures are slowly climbing. Plants are finally popping out and decorating the yard. This past winter was rough on some of our plants, but hopefully they will return better next year.

The Pompas Grass has been cut back and there are signs of green coming through. By the time the Pompas Grass is bigger, the Paper Whites will be finished.
