Did You Know–March is National Quilting Month?

In 1991, the National Quilting Association proclaimed the third Saturday of March to be National Quilting Day.  This was to be a day to celebrate the tradition of quilting and remembering the contributions quilters have made to their family and community.

Busy, Busy, Busy and More Snow

Last week we enjoyed some decent weather.  I spent a couple of days working at a vendor booth at the Mid Atlantic Quilt Festival in Hampton, VA.

Setting up Fabric Café’s Booth – Hang the Quilt Samples. It is nice to see the completed quilts for the tops that I pieced: Chevron Pattern (Pink/Green/Black Floral) and Snowball (Red/Cream/Black Chickens/Roosters) are two of them.

February 2014 Summary

This may have been a short month, but I was busy.  The weather has continued with temperatures lower than average and more snow than usual.  We’ve had temps in the 60’s to tease us of Spring, followed by snow and even thunderstorms.

Quilting For Good – The weather allowed us to meet this month.  It was good to get together and sew on quilts for Mary’s Center.  I was able to finish quilting a quilt someone had previously started.  I’m hoping to work on my free motion quilting, but this one I just did straight-line stitching using a curvy decorative stitch.
