I haven’t gotten as much quilting done this week as I had planned. Monday I spent cooking for a family in the neighborhood to welcome a new baby – Turkey Breast in the slow pot, Zucchini Casserole & Roasted Sweet Potatoes in the oven, Yeast Rolls & Grape Nuts Breakfast Muffins, Jell-O fruit Salad & Fluffy Strawberry Freezer Pie. Got to hold the 4 day old when we delivered dinner.

Tuesday & Wednesday were busy with appointments & errands. I was looking forward to a day of stitching on Thursday, but woke and discovered our small refrigerator/freezer had stopped working. Of course this had to happen the day after I had gone to the grocery store & stocked up! So I spent Thursday cooking everything that had thawed.
I was determined to spend some time at the sewing machine on Friday even though I had an afternoon appointment. I did some chain piecing working on one of my September Goals – making some HSTs.

HST in Progress
Got them all stitched and ready to cut & trim. That’s the plan for today.

Pinwheels in Progress
I’ll be making many more Pinwheels with the HSTs. I need 5 Pinwheels per row and 3 rows of Pinwheels.
Will you get some sewing done this weekend?
Happy Stitching!

So far, so good, on not losing the extra refrigerator (don’t tell it that it’s 30 years old). My boys have left the freezer door slightly ajar (years ago) and we almost lost food. Thank goodness only the stuff in the door defrosted. We ate LOTS of bacon that week. As for sewing, I have 2 different sew-in’s today. They overlap each other, so, I’ll get a bit of time at each. What I NEED to do, I need to do at home, not carting a machine around, so, I’ll get binding done today, and, hopefully get the important parts done tomorrow.
