Well, life hasn’t been what I’d like to call “Normal” for quite some time – and I’m not referring to the crazy winter/spring weather we’ve had (that’s another story entirely!). And this week is no exception, but it does involve activities I like to do.

For the past 9 years, my friend, Camelia, has hosted a Quilt Retreat in the Blue Ridge mountains.  I’ve attended 8 of these, helping her plan, set up and host.  I even hosted the 2015 Retreat when she had an unexpected, last minute family emergency.

This is the 2018 Quilt Retreat week.  As you can see, we are busy making plans and preparations.

Seriously, there are a lot of details that go into these retreats.  Planning next year’s retreat actually starts at the end of this year’s retreat.  We’ve been working hard on goodies for the quilters as well as door prizes, menus, and so much more.  Since we’ve done this before, we do have it well organized, and a lot of our work through the year is done long distance as we do not live near each other.  But we get together the week before and work on the final preparations.

Tuesday & Wednesday, will be set up days.  The staff at Spirit Wind Ministries are so very helpful, friendly and accommodating.  They have already been hard at work to help prepare a beautiful setting to sew, visit & relax, and planning delicious meals!

So, unless I get overly occupied with visiting quilters I haven’t seen in a year, or stitching something interesting or wandering in the beautiful outdoors, I’ll try to blog about the Retreat this week. Or maybe I’ll just sit out here for a while!
