Happy Semiquincentennial to the United States of America! July 4th is the day we celebrate 250 years since the signing of the Declaration of Independence.

We’ve been hearing fireworks for weeks and I’m guessing we’ll be hearing them for another week. Celebrations are going on all over including military fly-overs. Often these fly-overs will end up over our house, too.

I grew up during a time that the school day started with the class placing their tight hand over their heart and reciting the Pledge of Allegiance:

“I pledge allegiance to the Flag of the United States of America, and to the Republic for which it stands, one Nation under God, indivisible, with Liberty and Justice for all.”

I thought I’d share a few of the patriotic quilts I’ve made.

2021

This was a Mystery Quilt Along. The pattern is by Alycia, QuiltyGirl.  I donated this to Quilt of Valor to be presented to a Veteran.

This is another Quilt of Valor pattern by Alycia, QuiltyGirl. After I made it, I gave it to my hubby who served in the US NAVY during Vietnam.
