The year is moving faster & faster. Last Wednesday was the last day of September. And (Gasp!) there are only 7 more weekends until Thanksgiving (U.S.) and 11 more weekends until Christmas. For our Canadian friends there is only 1 weekend until Canadian Thanksgiving which is Monday, October 12th. So, do you think it’s time to Panic!

I’m a List Maker. I have a list of meals for the week and next. It helps me to be sure I have whatever groceries needed. My daily To Do List starts with Get Up so I can at least cross one event off as done. I have a list of several priority sewing projects that I’m working on or want to work on.

This time of year I need my Christmas Lists. One list is for the foods and special meals or food gifts I need to make and when. Another list is for the presents that need making or buying. I once read somewhere that a grandmother needs to give 4 different gifts – Something to wear, something to read, something to eat and something to play with. But I also add something I made. Sometimes it may be a pillowcase or a travel pillow and sometimes it may be a quilt
Now I just need help DOING my lists!
Busy Sewing
Honestly I have been doing a lot of sewing this week, but I can’t share any of it just yet. I’ve been doing a lot of cutting and ironing making HSTs and Strip Piecing.

Tip – I use cardboard squares to transport small pieces from the cutting table to the ironing board. They are also used to layout pieces of a block to keep them all lined up correctly. They can be cut to whatever size meets your needs. These are cut 10″ square.
The sewing room did get a bit messier. I want to make some bibs & burp cloths for the new nephew. I knew I had some supplies – diapers, flannel and waterproof fabric. BUT I haven’t used any of it for a while so couldn’t remember where I put it. Of course in a safe & logical place! And I could remember where it was BEFORE we moved my sewing room to the basement. Finally on Saturday hubby found all of it where we had stored “Non Quilting Material.”. So added that to my To Do List!.

In the Garden
The vine had started to wither so we harvested our volunteer pumpkins. There were the two I had seen but there was another small one.

Fall Fortnight is hosted by Carole on her blog, From My Carolina Home. This will be 2 weeks you won’t want to miss! I’m especially excited to join her with a special project. I hope you will join us!
Hope you are making progress on whatever you are stitching this week!
Happy Stitching!
Quilt Mouse

Oh, man, I could have gone the rest of this month not knowing how few weeks are left in my favorite season!!
Fall Fortnight should be fun, and I hope I can get the projects done in time to blog about them!!
