Quilt Stolen at International Quilt Festival

Just sharing some Info — I know I may not have a huge following, but wanted to pass this information on to my readers. An antique quilt was stolen from the booth at the International Quilt Show (I think it was the one in Houston, Tx, on November 3-4, 2010). Click on this link for picture and contact information.

More ‘Free’ Toys

Been busy with left over fabrics & stuffing — Did buy a few items to complete the projects. (The Plastic Rings, and the clips on the end of the ‘leash’). I just played with the fabric and randomly created different shapes. Only thing I didn’t have was a squeakie to put into one.

Quilts for Charity

Remember in September, I posted pictures of some fabric? (See my post here.)

I have completed 5 quilts and on Tuesday I turned them in at Quilting for Good. I had a number of errands and couldn’t stay, but said hi to everyone. Of course, any good quilting group must have “Show & Tell,” so I stayed long enough to show off the quilts.

Three Quilts were made using a Super 9-Patch Pattern I got off the web at Quiltmaker. It uses 1-yard each of 3 coordinating fabrics, folded 2 times and cut 2 times. Mixing & Matching the cut pieces, 3 quilt tops approximately 33″ x 40″ are made. Add 3 yards of backing fabric and you have 3 completed baby quilts.

Last month when we made a trip to Lancaster County, PA, we stopped at Weavers Dry Goods in Lititz, PA, and picked up some Panels (as well as other fabric). using the Panels as the quilt tops and adding batting & backing – Quilt-As-Desired – and you have 2 more baby quilts.

All of these quilts were done using the Pillowcase Method – layer batting, backing & top (right-sides together), stitch all around the edges using 1/4″ seam, & leaving about 6″ unstitched. Turn right-side out, stitch the open seam closed, pin & quilt – Tada! It’s done, no binding necessary.

Leftovers – Recycled

Yesterday I posted some pictures of leftover fabric pieces — Some just shedded strips — and said that you can make something, even with the least of them. So here is what I’ve made. Actually, they are not quite finished, but I wanted to upload the pictures.

Aiden is almost 4 months old — he should be getting ready to play with toys, or at least grab them and put into his mouth. So with all the pieces of fabric I cut 2-1/2" Squares, added a bit of applique from the smaller pieces of fabric, stitched and then stuffed with the small strips and pieces of batting — Voila! Building Blocks.
