August 2020 – UFO and OMG

These past months have gone by in a blur – One day seeming the same as the previous one. I did spend time in my sewing room, but not quilting. I’m hoping to try to get my sewing & quilting back on track. So I’m back to making lists to help me keep it straight.

I need to clean in my sewing room and move my mask making fabric to a shelf. I imagine more masks & surgical caps are in my future, but hopefully not as my primary project.

Looking Forward

It’s hard to believe August is here. Some times during the past months it’s been hard to tell what day or day of the week it is, let alone what month it is. July has broken the record for the greatest number of days in a month with high temperatures over 90-degrees.

My sewing/quilting mojo has been coming & going. Some days I’m more inspired than others. Making masks & surgical caps have taken up a lot of my time during the past several months, but have also been doing some sewing & crocheting for our new grandson who was born in June. More on those projects in a later post.

Comfort Food

No matter where you live, the past days, weeks (months) have been like none other the majority of us have lived through. Although all three of us are in the “at-risk” categories due to age or health, we are doing ok.

Whenever there is a lot of worry or stress, it is nice to have some Comfort Food. What you call Comfort Food, I guess, depends on where you call home. For us yesterday, it was Split Pea Soup and Cornbread.

Weekend Stitching – February 8 & 9, 2020

Beginning a new week and nothing much on the Calendar. Thursday is the only day with an appointment, Stitch Group & Grocery Shopping. Looks like this may be another week of stitching!

This past weekend has been productive. We had lots of leftovers for dinner, but needed some breakfast & nibbles. So Saturday morning I made Bisquick Sausage Muffins, Pumpkin Cinnamon Rolls (ok, these were from the freezer department in the grocery store, but I did bake them), and some Egg Muffins. Now we had breakfast for a couple of days. More free time for stitching!

Finally Friday – 2/7/2020

It’s the end of the week, or turn it around, it’s the beginning of the weekend! I really like weeks when I get to stick around the house and don’t have a lot of running around to do. That usually means more time for cooking or sewing.
