Productive Weekend & August 2019 OMG Finish

While the fabric from Fabric Cafe didn’t arrive as expected, I took advantage of the meal planning & prep which had freed up my time in anticipation of making a few tops.

In my post yesterday, I shared the four 16″ x 16″ throw pillows I made for my daughter. Two were for her and two were for the daughter of a friend of hers. I’m working on a Tutorial for these pillows and will post after I get it edited and pictures added.

Kitchen Prep for Another Weekend of Sewing

I was expecting a package from Fabric Cafe yesterday with fabric to make another top. So, in anticipation of a piecing marathon, I did some kitchen preparation. This would allow me the most sewing time with the least kitchen activity to interrupt me.

Stage #2A of Sewing Room Remodel/Organization

This week we began Stage #2A of my sewing room Remodel/Organization. I’ve broken Stage #2 into 3 subgroups so I can still have my ironing/cutting/sewing stations available for use.

My old cutting station was large, but not so sturdy. Also, because it was so big, it ended up with piles cluttering it. The other problem was that it blocked access to my closet which made that storage almost inaccessible.

Feeling Accomplished

After getting the Fabric Cafe tops in the mail, I did a quick clean-up in my sewing room. I pulled out one of my OMG projects to work on.

But before starting that, my eyes fell on one of my UFOs. Actually this one had been scheduled for April; and although I had pulled it out, it wasn’t done. So with a reasonably clean sewing room, I decided it was time.

A Weekend in the Life of 2 Quilt Tops

Stage #1 of my Sewing Room Remodel/Organization is nearly done – or as done as it can be until more storage is created in future stages. But this is on hold this past weekend as two more 3-yard Bundles arrived from Fabric Cafe. So I worked on creating two tops using the Town Square & Suite Times Patterns. Both patterns can be found in Easy, Peasy 3 Yard Quilts Book.
