The Big Reveal

I can’t say I didn’t get any stitching done in the past year.  But I haven’t been able to reveal some of the pictures until now.  Those of you that have followed my Blog for a while know that I make Flimsies (pieced tops that haven’t been quilted yet) for Fabric Cafe.  Sometimes the Flimsies are made from new fabric using older patterns to be made into quilts &  displayed at their booth at quilt shows, but other times they are pattern testing for new patterns or even a book of patterns.

This Spring, Donna was working on her newest book – Fast & Fun 3-Yard Quilts – which has just now been released.  I had the privilege to test four out of eight of the patterns in the book.

I’m a Winner!!

Yippee!  I follow a number of Quilting Blogs and occasionally one will offer a giveaway. I do not always comment or jump through the required hoops to enter, but last month I did.

Carole at the From My Carolina Home Blog curated the August Blogger Bundle sponsored by Bernie at Needle & Foot Fine Fabrics. After selecting these fabrics, Carole decided to create some simple placemats & then continued with the leftovers to make a matching Table Topper. Four placemats required just 6 Fat Quarters, and the giveaway was a Bundle of Fat Quarters of the fabric Carole used.  See her blog for the tutorial.

Well, It’s September!

The past 19 months have kept us very busy and hasn’t allowed much quilting/sewing. The end of September and probably most of October won’t allow much stitching, either.   I want to get some simple stitching done in the next few weeks as well as sharing what I have done in the past year.

To begin with, I’ll make a simple stitching Goal for Elm Street Quilt’s September’s One Monthly Goal.

June 2018 UFO Challenge, OMG and Goals

It’s hard to believe that it is already June! In the breaks between the multiple rain showers and thunderstorms, my DH has been working on the yard, planting flowers & spreading mulch, and generally making the yard look great. The weather this year has been on again/off again, sometimes cold when it should be hot and hot when it should be cold. March winds came in April, and April showers came in May.  This resulted in yardwork schedule being off.  But he did get some tomatoes, peppers & squash planted.
