Welcome, October!

It’s hard to believe we have made it through Spring & Summer and now heading straight into Fall.  There have been years we lived in other locations that didn’t really have all four seasons, but I love seeing the seasons change. With each Season, I think I love it best!  Although, personally, I’m not fond of changes in my life, the changes the Seasons bring are great!

Our leaves haven’t started changing yet, but I’m looking forward to the Fall Colors of yellow, gold, red and more!  Another thing that I look forward to in October is the Annual Autumn Jubilee over at Carole’s Blog – From My Carolina Home.

Just a Quickie Post to share my OMG Finish for September.  You can read about both the OMG hosted by Elm Street Quilts, and the Shelter Beds Project hosted by Capital Quilts in my post here.  You can check out the September Finishes of other Stitchers  at Elm Street Quilts September Finish Link-up Page.

2018-09 – 4 Shelter Beds – Backs

Simple stitching and a great opportunity to practice quilting.  I did a variety of stitching in grids with my walking foot using a couple of different decorative stitches on my machine. Next time I may practice some free-motion quilting.

I returned these 4 and picked up 3 more.  I will be a bit preoccupied with life for the next week or two, but hope to get to stitch these soon.

Just this month, Capital Quilts has sent Shelter Beds to NC, SC and IL to help comfort evacuated animals affected by Hurricane Florence.

So far in September I got a few more small projects pieced and am working on a tutorial I want to share.  I will get pictures and post more about them as soon as I can.

Hope you can get some stitching done this week.

Happy Stitching & Moving!

September Mary-thon Update

This is the 2nd year I have been participating in the Project Linus sponsored Mary-thon.  A marathon is 26 miles but the Mary-thon is 26 weeks.  A Half Mary-thon requires 30 minutes of activity for 3 days per week during the 26 weeks while a Full Mary-thon requires 30 minutes of activity for 5 days per week during the 26 weeks. This is repeated during the 2nd half of the year for 22 weeks which is an Ultra Mary-thon.
