2018 Quilt Retreat – Day #1

What a wonderful day we had! I’m not sure if we got more visiting or more sewing done! But I will say, I am feeling accomplished.  Weatherwise, the rain held off until evening and the sun played hide and seek with the clouds.  We had beautiful mountain views whenever we lifted our eyes from whatever we were sewing.

2018 Quilt Retreat – Welcome!

All the planning is done.  Everything is set up waiting for the ladies to arrive. YAY! The rain stopped in time for the Early Birds to unload their cars.

Just Some Random Thots

Today we’re busy setting up for the Quilt Retreat, so thought I would quickly share some Random Thoughts.

Although, I said we were busy, yesterday I did get a little down time to stitch on a quilt label.

Not Your Normal Week

Well, life hasn’t been what I’d like to call “Normal” for quite some time – and I’m not referring to the crazy winter/spring weather we’ve had (that’s another story entirely!). And this week is no exception, but it does involve activities I like to do.

For the past 9 years, my friend, Camelia, has hosted a Quilt Retreat in the Blue Ridge mountains.  I’ve attended 8 of these, helping her plan, set up and host.  I even hosted the 2015 Retreat when she had an unexpected, last minute family emergency.

Haven’t been around much

It’s been a while since I posted.  I know, that’s not good.  Life has had a way of shifting priorities, and I haven’t been able to work on much in the quilting realm and the blog-o-sphere.

Finishing is Winning

Even my Mary-thon has suffered, but I was able to still participate in the Chocolate Challenge – you know, Chocolate is a great motivator, right!?! Participants were Challenged that we would complete 26 days between Feb 26 – March 26 and we would either do 1 mile a day or do 26 repetitions of a new exercise that was given us for that day in a video email.

For 10 of the 26 days, I was able to either do the exercise or do a modified version of the exercise. YAY, me!! On the other days, I either walked or rode my exercise bike for at least 1 mile. During the 26 days, I managed to accumulate over 63 miles.  While I am still managing my Mary-thon requirement of a minimum of 30 minutes of activities for 3 days a week (and I try for 5 days/week), all of my family was hit with the flu, and I’ve gotten a bit off kilter with both my exercise and diet.

This week will be a bit out of the norm (more on that tomorrow), but beginning May 1st, I will seriously try to get back into a normal rhythm of blogging (I won’t say how often) and sewing.  I have soooo many projects in various levels of completion.

Happy Stitching & Moving!
