Merry Christmas to all! (2017)

Spending time with Family and cooking a Christmas Dinner.  Just wanted to pop in to my Internet friends and wish everyone a Merry Christmas, Peace, Love & Joy!

Crossing the Finish Line – Part 1

This year I have been supporting Project Linus and participating in an Ultra Half Mary-Thon as well as 2 challenges. This month the 2nd Challenge was 26 Miles in 26 Days.  The challenge was titled Tri 26 Mary Mile and challenged participants to complete (at least) 1 mile of exercise each day for a total of 26 days.  Click Here to see my Day #1 Post.

tri 26 Mary MileThe Challenge began Thanksgiving weekend, November 26, and participants had 31 days to complete the Challenge by December 26. We got a chart to track our miles.

Mary-Thon Winter Challenge Completed

I mostly did my miles on an exercise bike, but a few days included walking. I managed 3 miles on the bike most days.

My best day on the exercise bike – 15 minutes 3.75 miles!

I skipped one day when I didn’t feel well, and the last couple of days I did the minimum of 1 mile because of a bout of Vertigo (UGH!). We shared our progress & encouraged one another on a Facebook Group, so I knew I needed to keep moving and report in.

My Final Stats:

  • Total Exercise Miles – 70 miles
  • Exercise Bike – 62 miles
  • Walking – 8 miles
  • Total Days – 26 days out of 27 days (November 26 – December 22)
  • Average Daily Steps – 5050
  • Average Daily Miles – 4.66

Sunday Check-in – 12/03/17

I did spend some time in my sewing room on the 1st.  I found this cute tutorial for a scissors case on the Patchwork Posse Blog and while waiting on some visitors expected in the early afternoon I pulled out some scrap fabric and created one. It didn’t take long at all.

2 Pocket Scissor Pouch

I did a few things different.  Since there would be pointed objects in the pocket, I chose to add batting to give a little cushion.  The instructions didn’t give dimensions for the button loop.  I used some ribbon and guessed about 4.5 inches and after the fact felt maybe 5 inches would be better.  Then after I put the rotary cutter in the larger back pocket, I got to thinking using a pony-tail band would be even better because it would have some stretch. I plan on making a few more of these.

One Monthly Goal – December 2017

Life has resumed a new normalcy and I have hopes of doing some stitching in December.  My One Monthly Goal this month will be simple.

This is the flimsy which I completed in September and was Quilted in October by staff at Prints Charming in Fulton, MD. For December my OMG (One Monthly Goal) is to complete the Standard & Travel-size pillowcases to match.  Click Here to see my Tutorial on making Travel-size Pillowcases. Bonus points (to me) will be if I can get the binding added & label made.
