I will continue making Pillowcases today and maybe Saturday since I found so much fabric!  I do have to go out and run a few errands this morning, but when I get home I’ll get back to sewing. 

The stew was very good this evening and there’s enough that I won’t have to cook tomorrow!!

Two more seams and this Pillowcase will be done. Some people will use a Serger to finish up the pillowcases, but I like the look of a French Seam.

Before sewing the seams I trim the selvages.  I’m sure you’ve seen that not all fabric is the same width.  It can be frustrating that some fabric can be anywhere between 42” to 45” wide.  Honestly, I’m not sure I’ve see much fabric 45” width (from selvage to selvage). And finally, I square up the Pillowcase.

I will admit, I do not always pin when I’m sewing.  But I definitely pin, and pin a lot, when making pillowcases.

Morning – Day One:  I keep finding so much more fabric that would make cute pillowcases! I’m having too much fun, I think I will continue my Sew-A-Thon tomorrow.  Do you ever get distracted by fabric when working on other projects?

I like to iron my fabric before cutting.  Folded on the bolt it can be wonky or wrinkly and that can give you problems when you go to cut. While cutting Pillowcases doesn’t require the accuracy that piecing a quilt does, it still makes for better cutting.

 Do you iron your fabric on the right side or the wrong side?  Does it matter?  I don’t really think so, but I’m just in the habit of always ironing on the wrong side.
