My Tested Blocks

My group tested 13 of the 100 Blocks.  We randomly received patterns and didn’t know (and had no choice) as to which techniques we would be testing.  All Blocks finish to 12” square (12-1/2” unfinished).

I have 6 more blocks to show you, but I did not test any of the blocks from Today’s Featured Designers.  I don’t know which blocks will be previewed tomorrow or who the Featured Designers will be, so I don’t want to ‘jump-the-gun.’

So for today, I’ll not post any of the rest of my blocks.  Any blocks not posted tomorrow, will be highlighted in my Blog post on Tuesday, when Quiltmaker’s 100 Blocks, Volume #8 will be available at local quilt shops and bookstores.

Susan Guzman – Block #704 – Bouclier de la France (Applique)

The Quilty Pleasure’s Blog previewed this block on their post today calling it traditional and modern at once.

This is the block that I made using Susan’s pattern.

Yesterday, Quiltmaker Magazine previewed one of the 100 Blocks on their Facebook Page.  I tested this block.

Jo Morton – Block #747 – Dutch Basket (Mixed Technique/Pieced & Applique)

Half of this block is pieced using HST (Half-Square Triangles) and the other half is Appliqued. My Basket is brown and cream and features blue/purple flowers-

I made a block from 1 of the listed Featured Designers.

Cindy Lammon – Block #790 – Watermark (Pieced)

When made into a quilt using only this block, the corner squares create a secondary design of a Four-Patch.  See an example of this on her Blog.

My Block would have a Cranberry/Emerald Four-Patch with the Blue/Gold Square in a Diamond floating between –
