This Week’s Progress

I’m beginning to get some of my sewing mojo back.  Still had several days running around this week, so didn’t get a lot of sewing done. Plans are to put in some stitching time this weekend.

We have a new baby in the neighborhood so I made two Burp Cloths.  I figure you can never have too many Burp Cloths.  They were a quick & simple project. Sorry, I forgot to take pictures.

I worked on the Choo Choo Quilt (OMG), stitching the blocks & rows & started assembling the rows. It’s going to be so cute!  Block #1 only needed cutting while Block #2 required strip piecing and cutting to size.

I had to be a bit careful with the train fabric since it is directional, but the rows went together quickly.

Last Saturday was the release of Clue #1 of the 2017 Project Linus Mystery Quilt Challenge.  I’ve mentioned that this is the annual fund raising event for Project Linus.  I participated last year and am really excited to join in again this year.

Clue #1 included instructions for creating Blocks #1 and #2.  Additional clues will be released for the next 7 Saturdays.  It’s not too late to join in on the fun. The title of this year’s quilt is Exploring the World with Ethan, and each block will take us for a travel adventure.

Block #1 – Chinese Lantern – Ethan began his world tour in Asia, and picked up this beautiful Lantern to remember his experience.

Block #2 – Sail Boat – To explore the more than 20,000 islands known as the Pacific Nations in Oceania, Ethan really needs this sail boat.

I’m going to use my scraps, but did buy a few yards of fabric to help tie it all together.  I will have to dig through my Stash to find some fabric for backing.

Clue #2 will be on my stitching agenda this weekend!  My biggest problem is selecting what fabric to use! Hope you get some sewing done this weekend.

Happy Stitching!
