Sometimes it’s nice to just sew something quick. Pillowcases are one of those quickie projects I turn to when I just want to sew.
While searching through my fabric for my Fall Current Projects I found some Halloween fabric & since September is nearly Fall, so why not make some Pillowcases.
I guess I liked this fabric, because I found 3 separate bundles of it. A neighbor just turned four so I decided to make him matching standard pillowcase and travel pillow. While I was at it I made another travel pillow. I’m sure I can find someone to give it to.
A New Tool
Repetition and age combine to aggravate the arthritis at the base of my thumb on my left hand. It has become increasingly painful to hold down the ruler when rotary cutting so I had to find something to help. I have seen a more expensive "suction handle" which is sold by quilt shops. Browsing Amazon one day I found this cheaper & lighter, so why not try.

I’ve used those safety handles in the past. Somewhere around here I have one with 3 suction cups, that I found at a thrift store. I think it cost me less than $3. I’ve given away several that I’ve found in thrift stores, to other quilters.
