I know it’s still August but my mind is swirling with fall and even Christmas possible projects. I don’t have any specific items in mind, but have started pulling out fabric for inspiration.
While doing the cleaning in the sewing room I actually made a big mess pulling out Fall, Halloween and Christmas fabrics. Of course I also uncovered a number of UFOs.
These Mini Table Runners only need top stitched as there is no batting I don’t need to actually quilt.
Quilting the Dino Quilt
I have been spending time quilting the Dino Quilt, but I have to take a break every little bit. It’s taking a bit longer as my shoulder got tired easily.
You Never Know What You’ll Find!
I’m beginning to think holiday projects so I need to look for patterns/projects or Fabric Inspiration. I have my stash in several locations and I spent Saturday morning going through 2 shelves upstairs.
I knew this Halloween Fabric was upstairs but I was hoping to find some non-Halloween Fall Fabric.
I keep forgetting about this Halloween Quilt Kit. The pattern was in the October/November 2013 issue of McCall Quick Quilts designed by Jeff Pellissier and Debbie Kemp.
It’s been a while since I bought these 12 Fat Quarters of 30’s Fabric and white fabric I don’t remember if I had a design in mind. I’ll leave this upstairs and maybe plan to work on it after the new year – if I remember.
I did leave out the Halloween Quilt Kit and some fabric for inspiration.
I did find some Fall/Thanksgiving fabrics.
Now I just need to figure out what to make!
My Next Hand Sewing Project
One challenge when searching through my stash is not getting distracted by what else is discovered. I have inherited items from various other quilters. These are two of the quilt/block kits I’ve inherited.
I mostly sew with my sewing machine, but I do still like to do some piecing by hand. Last year I had 3 Table Toppers that I hand pieced at my Thursday Stitching Group. But this year I haven’t been inspired. While looking through my stash and other goodies, I found these two pre-cut projects both of which are patterns I’ve never made. I do like expanding my skills
I think I’ll work on the Dresden Plate Blocks and hand stitch them on Thursdays at my Stitching Group. It won’t be for anybody special at this time.
Fabric Cafe’s Newest Book
Come back Wednesday and I’ll share the 2 Tops I made that are in the new Panel Pizzazz 3 Yard Quilts book. This is the fabric for one of the quilts.
Hope you are making progress on whatever you are stitching this week!
Happy Stitching!
