Fabric Cafe Tops I’ve Made in July 2025

I’ve been going through pictures of the quilt tops I made in 2025 while testing new patterns for Fabric Cafe.

Today I’ll share with you two tops I  made last year.

Do you have a Fat Quarter Bundle in your stash but you don’t know what to do with it? Did you realize that 12 Fat Quarters is the equivalent of 3 yards of fabric?

Fabric Cafe has a number of patterns which have been designed with Fat Quarters in mind. Last July (2025) I made two. One is a Single Pattern and the other one is included in a book with 6 other Fat Quarter friendly patterns.

Fat Quarter Single Pattern

Bold in Bloom has been released as a single pattern. It is a throw which is a finished size of 46 x 59 inches.

This pattern takes 12 Fat Quarters plus 1-1/2 yards of fabric.

Fat Quarter Book of 7 Patterns

This book is titled Fat Quarter Quilting Fun and can be found here at Fabric Cafe.

The pattern I made was called Simple Steps. You can see the block borders creating a simple diagonal “step.”

Simple Steps uses 12 coordinating Fat Quarters and measures 46.5 X 62.5 inches. This makes a nice lap-size quilt but the book includes instructions for enlarging to Twin and Queen/King sizes.

The quilts in this book combine strip piecing, half square triangles, and traditional block construction.

This time I made the pattern with new fabric.

Watch the YouTube Video of the March 16, 2021, release of this book. Fran shows all seven quilts with comments on the construction of the tops.

Just a note: I am just someone who loves Fabric Cafe’s 3 & 5-yard quilt patterns & enjoy working for them testing their well written patterns. The opinions expressed here are mine and I do not receive compensation for my reviews or posts.

Hope you are making progress on whatever you are stitching this week!

Happy Stitching!
