Project #2 – Semi Complete

Project #2 – Sewing Room Make-over: Well, it’s not ‘complete’ – but not sure it will ever be ‘complete.’  I will always move this, change that.  I have a box & two file drawers of papers I want to sort through, organize & shred some.  I have a couple of boxes of fabric odds & ends to go through.
 
But it is together enough that I think I can find what I need when I need it and function.
 
 
I can cut on my cutting table, and sew on my sewing table.  I can do touch-up ironing on the little iron pad to the right of the sewing machine.  I still have stacks of fabric to sort.
 
We have one of M’s mother’s Quilts hanging on the wall, and another behind the cutting table covering the mattress/box springs that are standing on their sides.  Inspiration!

Rain & Humidity & Rain

Rain coming this morning, followed by hot & humid, followed by Severe Storm possibility this afternoon.
 
Thursday & Friday, I continued to work on Project #2 – Sewing Room Makeover – I sorted through alot of quilt or block patterns & tips that I had printed and organized them into pocket notebooks.
 
Thursday I also went to Quilt Group — We all agree this is a great time.  No cost, no prep, no homework, great friends good conversation, and even get some hand stitching done!
 
Friday was a little bit this and little bit that day.  And today will be more of the same – laundry, dusting, & cleaning.

Unexpected Project #4 – Completed

Rain has been off/on, fairly steady today; but no Thunder/Lightning.  I worked Preschool this morning and then ran some errands.  My car got 25.5 mpg with this last tank of gas – which included our road-trip to Williamsburg.
 
Project #4:  M checked out the washing machine and found that the Lid Switch had croaked.  He was able to fiddle with it enough to empty the water.  He checked online for parts and the local Sears Parts Department had six on hand.  So on my way home I picked it up. 
 
After he finished an online course this afternoon, he went down and fixed the machine.  He ran it through one cycle — It works!  Yippie!!  The machine is under 6 years old and I wasn’t looking forward to spending $500-$1,000 for a new machine. So happy he’s a Handy Man! — Project #4 – Completed!!

Project #3 – Steps 1,2 & 3

Today has been some office work for me followed by some organization of (free) Quilt Patterns which I have downloaded from the Internet.
 
M & K worked on Project #3
Step #1 – Design & Measure for platform
Step #2 – Purchase necessary lumber & supplies – M went to Magruders’ for some groceries and Home Depot
Step #3 – Cut Lumber to fit – K came over after work and they set up ‘shop’ in the drive.  They had to race the weather – dark clouds & breezies warned that rain was on it’s way.
 

 
We ate Dinner: London Broil that M had grilled a couple of weeks ago, Squash w/onions & Mashed Potatoes.
 
After Dinner K went down to check her laundry and OPPS! the washing machine is full of water, but not agitating.  There is electricity to the machine and it will add water, but nothing else happens – no agitating, no draining, no spinning.  Looks like we’ve got another unexpected Project.
