Midweek Activities- Wednesday 8/26

Our local school system started back in session this week. I am returning to my morning bus duty for a neighbor family. While mother takes younger child to daycare I walk the 1st Grader to the bus stop and wait until her bus picks her up.

UFO Progress

I mentioned last week that I had found some tops I made yeaes ago that just needed backing & to be quilted. Little did I know that years ago when I made them they would come in handy this year. The pattern is Big Picture by Fabric Cafe.

This top even had the backing fabric picked. So Monday I ironed, measured, cut & stitched the backing for the Roadway Quilt top.

Along with the baby quilt I made last weekend, this quilt is on the way to be quilted by my friend on her longarm machine.

I have (at least) two more UFOs that I need to dig out & make backings but they will wait for a bit.

Flying Geese

I’m working on a Fall project and I’m thinking it would look good with some Flying Geese. So I pulled out some fall fabric and played around making some.

So, the Goose is the large, single triangle. I can’t decide if the fall colors should be the goose or the wings (or are the smaller pieces the sky?).

Hope you are making progress on whatever you are stitching this week!

Happy Stitching!

  1. Your Roadway quilt top is so cute!
I always think of the side pieces as the sky; if you want the fall colors to be the focal point I’d put them as the single triangle…just my 2 cents 😊
