Just one of those days. We left the house about 8 am & got home a little after 7 pm. A friend from our seminary days is retiring from the church he has served for 35 years and we attended his celebration. It was a fun time catching up with them and seeing their children & grandchildren.
So we did a lot of driving today. We call it “Quality Car Time.” It’s surprising how much talking you get done while riding in the car.
Continue readingI am attempting to be a bit more organized and manage my multitude of projects. It seems to be working to cut a little, iron a little, and stitch a little while working on a couple of projects as well as my Quilt Alongs.
A couple of the QALs are kind of quickies. I’ve been able to complete the Clue/Step the day it is released in just an hour or two. Then I still have time to sew something else. That makes having a couple of projects on hand, cut and ready to stitch good and I get more stitching accomplished.
Continue readingOppsie! Fall is coming in & making itself known. A cold front came through Thursday with rain & heavy winds. Friday morning was in the 50’s & breezy but very sunny. The air conditioner was off & doors & windows were open.
Suddenly hubby heard a crash out the front door. He came back to the sewing room & told me we had just lost a tree in our front yard. We walked out the door & discovered that 1/4 of the Redbud tree was now across our front porch. This tree had 4 trunks coming up from the ground & was home to one of our bird & Squirrel feeders.
We’ll have to check it out & see if the whole tree needs to come down. I’ll miss it because it’s one that shades my sewing room window from the heat of the summer morning sun.
Continue readingFirst day of Fall & the day ended with bright sun, brisk breeze (wind) and dropping temperatures. I think the days of temperatures in the 90’s! Looking forward to seeing the colors of fall!
Well, today is the last full day of Summer! It’s hard to believe only 14 more weekends before Christmas! Where does the time fly? So it seems our yard thinks it’s fall. We have a beautiful yellow mum in full bloom!
