The Week That Was–02/22/2015

Well, it is still winter here. Two snow storms this week which nearly closed down the city.

It was combined with extremely cold temperatures – it was 5 degrees Fahrenheit this morning and this week the wind gusts were up to 60 mph.  This was our Weather Alert for last Wednesday at 8:30 PM.

When not cooking – to keep the house warm! – or shoveling/brooming the snow, I did get some stitching done!

Friday Finds–02/20/2015

OK, where has this week gone!  I can’t believe that it is Friday again.  Not to mention that the week has gone by so fast, but guess what?  Next Friday is the last Friday of February!  I know that February is a short month, but does it seem to you that the month has flown by?

The weather has been wicked.  This just hasn’t been a normal winter. Although we’ve been fairly lucky concerning the small amount of snow that we’ve had compared to other locations, it has been extremely cold with winds almost hurricane strength which has allowed the wind chill temperature to drop into single digits or even negative numbers!

Let’s get started looking at some sewing and quilting projects found on the Internet.  If we can’t go out into the yard, at least we can be inside sewing!

 2015-02-14-Snow

We’ve had some snow flurries, lots of wind and falling temperatures.  The wind chill on Friday was below Zero ( F ) and they are promising today will be even colder. This is what it looked like last night.  It didn’t snow a lot, but the wind was rattling the house!

Friday Finds–2/13/2015

Happy Day Before Valentine’s Day! Do you have plans with your Sweetie?  Our plans will probably be to hang around the house, and I bet some stitching will be involved.  After all, we’re an ‘old married couple.’ We celebrate our togetherness year round.  But, a special Happy Anniversary to my Sister and her husband.  They chose an easy day to remember!

Here is a Mini Heart Wall Quilt that I made a couple of years ago.  It was all hand-stitched.  I got the pattern from the Sew Bitter Sweet Designs Blog when they had a Valentine’s Day Showcase in 2012 and guest Blogger Lyanna from Purple Panda Quilts shared her tutorial.

This week I want to share a few of the projects I’ve found on the Internet that may one day be added to my To-Do List.
